chatfield state park
Chatfield State Park is near Denver, just southwest of the city in the town of Littleton. It has several campground loops, some with full hookups and some with partial hookups. We camped in Loop D, #180, which is a pull through site on a level concrete pad. We had a picnic table and a fire pit. We did not have a view of the lake, but we were surrounded with trees which was nice and gave us some privacy and feeling of seclusion. Off in the distance when the wind blew, we could hear the clinging and clanging of the boats parked in the dry boat parking lot. Within short walking distance, there is a small building that has toilets, showers, and laundry facilities. We had 3/4 bars of cellular service and LTE. The price is $41/night for a full hookup campsite. Chatfield Reservoir is pretty large and offers 2 boat launching areas and a marina. There are also horse stables and a RC airplane flying field. The smaller bass ponds south of the reservoir offer SUP rentals and lessons.
